In the gangway by my place
girls with tattoos, military boots and studded belts are reading Kant and leave lipstick stains on the moldy walls of the building
the last Darwinists live in my building, unaware that they exist, they drink vodka and light beer
throw their eyes on the walls hoping that they’ll come back as doves, Noah’s brand
my neighborhood smells pestilential of philosophy, metaphysics and cheap detergent
with a strong quantic accent
God’s particle seems lost here
street kids and petty vendors with empty bags keep looking for it
cars’ engines are stalling
they don’t dare enter the darkness lit street
phosphorous dreams of course, emigrate beyond walls..
in my town there are only walls
brick people. Mortar people. Nail people and cockeyed nails in the impeccable walls
the young people are the ones bearing the burden, the concrete bends their spines, necks, knees
through fingers extended ridiculously, leak copied course pages
from the faculty that doesn’t exist, life is their only avenue left
and the school and the street, their only life left
and they have a lot of answers but nobody is asking them anything
the impertinent walls are growing, the sky is made of concrete, steel, glass, it expands confused
Kant runs with the last wonder-rain down the drains under the walls –
All that I gave as being rightfully mine, was, was, was my youth, bricked-in nowadays neither here, nor there

Amazing. More creative imagery in a single posting than some have in their entire blog. ––Chagall

Wow… thank you for liking my pop-up-poetry blog so I could find you here. I admire your voice, your way of seeing beyond the obvious. Your photos add so much intensity as well. So many word combinations to commend you for… in this one, what stays with me is „they have a lot of answers but nobody is asking them anything” combined with the looks of the faces of the bike girls… fantastic. Keep on writing, poet!

I always say, the true poet is the reader who
sees beyond words
I am one skied pencil and paper
the rest comes as a suffering or as if you bite the smile is not accomplished, coming from the future

hello, valeriu… but it is our society, our culture and our civilizations thus far that produced these alienated youths. right? and we, who are supposed to know better and to have done better (guided them, showed them the more compassionate ways) could hardly do anything but describe their plights, in prose or in poetry, and lament the state we all are in… things are sad. 🙂 hope you are well. kind regards… ~ san

you are so right … we have educated us there … we can not blame anything … I’m to think that I have much to learn from them
I am fain, thank you so much
ApreciazăApreciază
oh, but we always wish things were better – for the youths, especially. they should feel connected and be productive. we have much to learn from the lives in the alleyways. they are people, too… 🙂 thanks for the visit, have a good weekend..
