good day, dear reader, give me your hand
between these strings of words
which often happen to peel your wounds
and too seldom you licks them
you forgive me when I’ll break the commas in the verb
“to care”, until I find your own name
you are the one who sees the poem, the struggle groaning under the letters
the merit is yours only, if in edges of the words
you’re profiling the poet who … I never will be
in my reality, I wear a watch on hand,
I cursing and…I try the prayers on measure
and I slam with the laugh-cry… on walls, on the floors …
if you meet him, you would kiss the hands
and the arched eyebrow, reading me here …
Perhaps, you will give me to drink, and you will try to convince me
to stop writing
docile, I will obey, and I leave to pantomime, imitating the last flight
of a butterfly in the garden that with my hand, I’ll do for you
now, you only say good day
and maybe it will be

“For you, I’ll give up writing” (version translated by my good friend Michaela)

Hello, dear reader, give me your hand
Reach through these rows of words
That, sometimes peal at your wounds
And too seldom lick them
Forgive me for twisting comas in the verb
“to care”, until I find your name
You are the one who sees poetry, the groaning struggle under letters
It is entirely your merit that on the edges of words
You define the poet… who, I’ll never be
In my reality, I am wearing a watch around my wrist,
I curse and try on prayers sized to fit
I throw my cry-laugh against walls and floors
And if I met you, I would kiss your hands
And your brow arched over my words..
You would probably give me a drink and try to convince me
to give up writing
Docile, I would humor you and switch for pantomime,
I would imitate the last flight of the butterfly in the garden
that with my hand will create for you…
But, for now, I am only going to wish you a good day
And hope that it is

docile, mi suppongo, e vado a pantomima, imitando l’ultimo volo
Ora, adesso, ti dice soltanto buon giorno

  7. We may give up writing for someone… I have before. It would be a shame to not see your posts, but, writing has a way of welling up inside you and compelling you forward. It can only be ignored for so long. Writing is a true lover that never fails us.
